A peacebuilder, journalist, and advocate for social change, an advocate who has dedicated her life to fostering peace, empowering vulnerable communities, and influencing policies for good governance.
Born on May 18 in Zaria, Kaduna State, Rachel Nuhu Birma's transition from Journalism to Peacebuilding is remarkable, as her passion for storytelling paved her way to Television Journalism at the NTA Television College, Jos, in 2011, and as a journalist working with Stefanos Foundation, she covered conflict-ridden communities, giving voice to survivors of crises in Nigeria's North and middle belt regions.
As her passion for humanity bloomed, it further deepened her desire to create sustainable solutions for conflict prevention and resolution.
Determined to achieve more and amplify her impacts, Rachel pursued a B.Sc. in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the National Open University of Nigeria in 2017, and in 2020, Rachel proceeded to founding Africarepeace Initiative, an organization dedicated to promoting peace, empowering vulnerable women and girls, and equipping young people with education and vocational skills.

Her commitment to peace and security has earned her several key roles, including:
