We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator specializing in water treatment and desalination to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of desalination processes, proven experience in procurement, and excellent project coordination skills to ensure the seamless execution of projects. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to manage project activities effectively, meet deadlines, and achieve high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination - Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing desalination project activities from initiation to completion. - Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure objectives are met within scope. - Facilitate communication between internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure smooth project execution. - Prepare detailed project reports, documentation, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders. - Identify and address project risks, ensuring timely implementation of mitigation strategies. - Work closely with senior management to provide progress updates and recommendations for project improvements. Technical Support & Compliance - Coordinate with engineering and technical teams to understand equipment and material requirements. - Ensure that procurement activities align with project needs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. - Assist in conducting technical evaluations and feasibility studies related to desalination technologies. - Support compliance with local and international environmental and safety regulations. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and project teams regarding project updates and procurement status. - Address and resolve project-related issues, conflicts, and challenges in a timely manner. - Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action items. - Maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency. Procurement Management (Experience in this will be considered an advantage) - Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, price negotiations, contract management, and purchasing of desalination equipment and materials. - Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost-effectiveness. - Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring the best value for project needs. - Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and inventory tracking systems. - Implement cost-saving strategies and optimize procurement procedures. Qualifications and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. - Minimum of 10 years of experience in water treatment, specifically desalination projects. - Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor negotiations within the water treatment industry. - Strong knowledge of desalination technologies, equipment, and processes. - Experience working on large-scale water treatment projects is highly desirable. Skills and Competencies - Excellent project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. - Proficiency in procurement systems and ERP software for managing supply chain operations. - Strong negotiation and contract management skills. - Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple project tasks simultaneously. - Strong problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools such as MS Project). - Effective team collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications - PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a plus. - Knowledge of international procurement regulations and industry standards. - Prior experience in government or large-scale infrastructure desalination projects.
