Magistrate Joshua Nembaware sentenced Ndlovu to two years in prison, but the sentence was conditionally suspended in favor of 420 hours of community service. In court, Ndlovu explained that he attacked his mother because she chased away his wife, leaving him feeling deprived of intimacy. He said, “I assaulted my mother because she chased away my wife. Now I am sex-starved. What is the next move since I no longer have a wife?” The incident occurred on February 22, when Ndlovu had an argument with his mother, Greater Ndlovu, over his wife's departure.
