NITI Aayog's report on Expanding Quality Higher Education through States and SPUs highlights Kerala achieving the highest position in the Gender Parity Index across states, marking a significant milestone in educational equity. Gender Parity, which stands for equal representation of men and women in a given area, is one of the most vital factors in achieving the all-inclusive development of the country. Kerala stood at a score of 1.44 in the year 2021-22 in the Gender Parity Index. The top 5 performing states in terms of Gender Parity are Kerala at 1.44, Himachal Pradesh at 1.33, Nagaland at 1.28, Meghalaya at 1.24, and Chhattisgarh at 1.23.
