Relationships are a mutual give-and-take—sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. Sometimes, the other person wins, and sometimes they lose.
But here’s the key: occasionally choosing to “lose” to nurture love, understanding, and harmony isn’t really losing—it’s a victory in itself.
However, if a relationship becomes one-sided, where one person always dominates, insists on being right, and constantly “wins” while the other is forced to keep losing—that’s not a healthy dynamic. That’s toxicity.
You don’t have to sacrifice your self-respect to feed someone’s ego. In such cases, the real “win” is recognizing the imbalance and handling the relationship differently—with boundaries, wisdom, and self-worth intact.
