I once visited a home where a little boy excitedly asked his father to play as soon as he returned from work. The father, sinking into the sofa, sighed, “Beta, I’m exhausted.”
The man drove home in his AC car from his AC office, where he likely spent the day in a cushy revolving chair, sipping coffee between meetings.
Meanwhile, his son: Walked to school in the scorching heat, ran around like Usain Bolt during recess, came home and went back outside to play and still had energy left to play with his dad!
Now, while the little boy is naturally more energetic, there’s another key difference—he was carefree.
Physical exhaustion? A good night’s sleep fixes that.
Mental exhaustion? Even 12 hours of sleep won’t help if your mind is running marathons of stress, anxiety, and pending emails.
So, my friends, while we chase deadlines, let’s ensure we’re not dead inside.
Prioritize your lifeline — ‘REST’ — not just PHYSICAL SLEEP, but MENTAL PEACE too.
Because no amount of naps can refresh a restless mind!
