Ingredients:
Double shot of espresso or 1 tbsp of coffee mixed with 4 tbsps of hot water
1/2- 1 tablespoon of hazelnut syrup
Lots of ice
Milk to top (1/4th - 1/2 cup)
Hazelnut syrup:
1/2 sugar (raw sugar or white sugar)
1/2 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1/4th cup hazelnuts - roasted and chopped
Process:
- Roast the hazelnuts at 180 C for 8-10 minutes
- Cool it down and chop the hazelnuts
- Add the hazelnuts to a pot along with the sugar and water
- Cook for 7-8 minutes on low until the hazelnut flavour infuses
- Take it off the heat and let it sit for 15-20 minutes
- Add the vanilla and stir it in
- Strain the mixture
- You can re use the hazelnuts and bake them to make caramelised hazelnuts
- Extract your espresso or prepare your instant coffee
- Assemble the drink by combining the coffee and hazelnut syrup
- Add lots of ice and top it up with the milk
- Mix well and enjoy!
