JNPA Port Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NMDC Group for an investment of โน21,000 crore to deepen the channel and develop infrastructure at Vadhavan Port. The agreement was signed on Tuesday, marking the beginning of work on the proposed โน76,000 crore Vadhavan Port project.
Previously, several MoUs were signed in the presence of the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways and the Minister of State to support infrastructure development at Vadhavan Port. Through these agreements, multiple companies have committed to investing thousands of crores in the project, including the โน21,000 crore investment by NMDC Group. During the signing, discussions were also held between JNPA officials and NMDC Group representatives regarding project execution.
As per the MoU, the development of offshore land along the Vadhavan coastline will take place. This initiative is a significant step towards transforming Vadhavan Port into a world-class maritime hub.
