A respected coach, official, and mentor, Lazarus Manjoro dedicated his life to developing Zimbabwean tennis. From his early days at Mufakose Senior Tennis Club to coaching at Peterhouse and leading national teams abroad, he was instrumental in shaping the sport. His impact extended beyond the court, as he also worked to uplift underprivileged communities through grassroots programs like the Mufakose Training Academy and the Rural Tennis Group. Manjoro’s legacy lives on through the players he mentored, some of whom have risen to international prominence, including Providence Nyoni, now a Director of Tennis in New York. This memorial tournament will celebrate his contributions and ensure his passion for the game continues to inspire future generations. Tennis enthusiasts and former players will gather for two days of competitive matches, paying tribute to a man who devoted his life to Zimbabwean tennis.
