According to the statement issued yesterday, February 20, 2025, the claims are entirely false and have no basis in fact. The RBZ emphasized that any sale of a banking business in Zimbabwe would require the approval of the Registrar of Banks and Exchange Control, among other authorities. However, the bank has not received any application from investors seeking to purchase POSB, nor has it received any correspondence from the government or the President regarding such a sale.
