27 February 2025 Ndera FM News Mashonaland East Province Takes Step Towards Youth Empowerment Story by Tanaka Mutadzakupa Marondera- In a bid to harness the potential of Zimbabwe's youthful population, the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, in partnership with the United Nations, convened a consultative meeting with youths from Mashonaland East Province. The meeting, held on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, aimed to develop a comprehensive national youth empowerment strategy. The Director of Strategic Planning and Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Blazio Manobo, emphasized the ministry's commitment to engaging young people in national development, recognizing the potential of the 2.2 million young Zimbabweans to drive production and development. Former junior president Tinaye Mbavari stressed the need for increased youth representation in parliament and local authorities, highlighting the disparity between the youth population and representation. The strategy will focus on economic empowerment, innovation, entrepreneurship, skills development, and environmental conservation. By engaging Zimbabwe's youth, the initiative aims to shape a brighter future for the country.
