01 March 2025 Ndera FM News Marondera Man Loses $15,723 in Robbery Incident Story by Atuperi Ndala Marondera- A Marondera resident was robbed of $15,723 and his cellphone by a group of unknown robbers on February 22, 2025. The victim, who had recently returned from delivering biscuits in Mutare, was approached by two men at his residence's main gate, who requested directions. As he provided the directions, the robbers dragged him into a nearby vehicle, where three other accomplices were waiting. The robbers demanded that the victim surrender his belongings, and he handed over the cash and his phone. The robbers then stripped him of his clothes and abandoned him at a local farm. The victim sought assistance from a nearby homestead and reported the incident to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Marondera Central. ZRP Mashonaland East Provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazowachiyi confirmed the incident and urged the public to exercise caution. Inspector Chazowachiyi advised against carrying large sums of money, encouraged the use of banking services, and warned against moving around at night.
