*Mutapa* Investment Fund CEO, Dr. John Mangudya, has officially appointed the NetOne Financial Service board, as announced in a recent government gazette. The newly appointed board, which began its tenure on February 1, will serve for the next four years with Gloria Ndoro as the Chairperson and Paul Upfiga serving as her deputy. The board also includes Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, Nyasha Nyambuya, and Tinashe Yafele.
A group of young ICT innovators has launched Code Space Zimbabwe, a platform aimed at expanding access to coding education and bridging the country’s digital skills gap. The initiative will provide training in coding, gaming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science, following international standards. Participants will earn certificates of competence from a local university at the end of the training.
Cassava Technologies, the parent company of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, has announced major leadership changes as part of its growth strategy. Former Southern Africa Regional CEO Wellington Makamure has been appointed CEO of Cassava’s Rest of Africa and International businesses, while Lorreta Songola takes the helm as head of the company’s business operations in Zimbabwe. The restructuring is aimed at accelerating growth and strengthening its future competitiveness.
Meta has announced Project Waterworth, a $10 billion+ subsea cable project that will stretch 50,000 kilometers, making it the world’s longest. The network will connect five continents, with landing points in the United States, Brazil, India, and South Africa, aiming to enhance global internet speed reliability and expanding its AI and cloud infrastructure supporting the growing demand for data connectivity across the globe.
