🌹🌷🙏 *Chapter 31 continued....* 🧖. * Conclusion* My observations are not meant to argue against mutual aid or social cooperation. There are many good reasons for people to choose to help one another voluntarily. *But one is not born with a right to the mind, efforts, energy, and time of others.* Any one of us may need help from friends or strangers at some point in our lives, but self responsible people do not demand it as their due. They appreciated it as an act of generosity. They do not imagine they were born holding a mortgage on the energy and assets of other people, although plenty of politicians and intellectuals tell them otherwise. Today the attitude of entitlement has reached epidemic proportions. A Times magazine journalist noted: “If I want it, I need it. If I need it, I have a right to it. If I have a right to it, someone owes it to me, or else I will sue.” This short statement condenses the antithesis to self responsibility. *The idea of living self responsibly has many applications from carrying once weight in a marriage, partnership, or acknowledging authorship of one’s action to earning one’s living.* *About the Author* - *Nathaniel Brandon, Ph.D*, is a practicing clinician in Los Angeles and a Best Selling Author. This article was adopted from his most recent book - *Taking Responsibility*. *End of Chapter 31* Compiled by Mahendra Kolhekar X handle @KolhekarM 🌹🌷🙏
