Goodday brothers and sisters Here is today's Devotion JESUS AT THE TEMPLE Matthew 21:12-17 -Here we get to understand the emotion and the act of Jesus when he entered the temple area. Firstly he drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. -Although Jesus portrayed an act of being angry this he did because he said it is written "My house will be called a house of prayer but you are making it a den of robbers" -The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the son of David" they were indignant.(Indignant means they were anguished or annoyed by what Jesus did because what he did, it was freely and from a heart of doing GODs will) -This Scripture teaches us how GOD feels when he turn the house of praise into a market. With everything that we have it is given by GOD -Including talents,Skills, Abilities and Finance going abroad, everything comes from him. So we cannot be expected to make money out of things that were given by GOD,if we benefit let it be from a gratitude of giving.(meaning it's a bonus if we do but we do nit make profit in the house of the LORD) -We do not to expect the church to pay us in return of what we do in the house of the LORD(GOD has a way of blessing us for doing good) -We grieve the heart of the LORD by making money from the gifts of the LORD. Because GOD expects us to worship him with these gifts and blessings that we have giving him praises for these he gave us willingly and we ought to be responsible on how to use our gifts and blessings willingly. -Sometimes GOD will test you on the things you expect to benefit from if ever are you doing this willingly or you are just one of the culprits who turn the house of the LORD into a 'den of robbers' Amen Thank you we love you and GOD loves you best As the week is over ask yourselves these questions What does it mean to have childlike faith? What does humility look like in your life? How is God’s Kingdom different from our current culture?
