Good morning Having compassion for others _Verse of the day_ Jonah 4:10-11 AMP [10] Then the Lord said, “You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight. [11] Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 [innocent] persons, who do not know the difference between their right and left hand [and are not yet accountable for sin], as well as many [blameless] animals?” - In the Verses God challenges Jonah's perspective and compassion - Jonah was upset about the loss of a plant that brought him comfort , yet he seemed like he cared less about the fate of people of Nineveh - God contrasts Jonah's concern for the plant with His (God ) own deep compassion for the entire city of Nineveh - Through this passage of scripture we are reminded of God's boundless mercy and patience - It also encourages us to examine our own hearts and to grow in compassion for others , understanding that God's love extends to all creation including those who may seem undeserving in our own eyes _PRAYER_ FATHER GOD, forgive us when our hearts are hard and lack compassion for others. Teachers to love as you love with mercy and understanding. Help us to deeply care for people and the world around us in Jesus name .Amen Shalom
