Blessed Mahashivratri to All 🙏🏼🌹🙏🏼 Through my childhood Mahashivratri in my home has been this iconic celebration of prayers and feeding Khichda to all homes in our building and sending it to family and friends homes. It is much later in life that I understood that it is one of the most spiritually significant nights of the year, dedicated to Lord Shiva
.
During my spiritual churning I realised that It is an opportunity for deep inner transformation and heightened spiritual awareness. Even without knowing I was drawn to listen to the Shiva Tandav Stotram and other chants. Then in 2012 just before Mahashivratri, I was gifted a beautiful Archangel Michael Invocation combined with the Shivaic Dance Release Meditation. I didn't know the real depth of its power till I got my loving group in Dubai experience it and Whao! I was equally blown off after conducting it and hearing about what each one experienced.
Then in 2021 with my dearest Neetika I conducted the same along with Chanting and a discussion on Shiva Consciousness at the iconic Mukteshwar Temple in Juhu Mumbai. We had the most soulful experience when a group of almost 20 of us bathed in Divine Light as we saoked into the power of God's Grace under the open skies at the temple premises for an all nighter. Today a small group of us will be doing the Chanting and Meditation at our WHOLEistic Wellbeing space.
Sharing some spiritually powerful practices to engage in for inner growth on Mahashivratri:
1. Maintain a Night-Long Wakefulness (Jaagran) - Mahashivratri is considered a night of heightened cosmic energy. Staying awake in meditation, chanting, or devotional activities helps align with this energy for inner awakening.
2. Practice Silence qnd Introspection - Observing silence (mauna) minimizes distractions, allowing deep introspection and connection with higher consciousness. Spend time in meditation, contemplating Shiva’s qualities—detachment, transformation, and pure consciousness.
3. Meditate During Brahma Muhurta if you can. The pre-dawn hours (Brahma Muhurta) are highly charged with spiritual energy. Meditating at this time helps activate the Third eye and deepen awareness of our own being.
4. Chant Shiva Mantras and Stotras or listen to them. Reciting powerful mantras like Om Namah Shivaya raises vibrations and cleanses the aura. Reading or listening to the Rudram Chamakam or Shiva Tandava Stotram can invoke transformative energy.
5. Perform Mental Abhishekam (Sacred Bath for Shiva Lingam - visualise in meditation) and in your Minds Eye offer water, milk, honey, ghee, and bael leaves to a Shiva Lingam. It symbolizes purification, surrender, and devotion. Focusing on the Ajna Chakra (third eye) during meditation can enhance intuition and inner clarity. Visualizing a blue and golden light in the center of the forehead will help in cleansing if the Ajna and deepen spiritual insight.
6. Fasting for Detoxification and Spiritual Energy or Staying Light in your diet, or being on liquid diet helps purify the body and mind, making them more receptive to spiritual energy. Consuming satvik food like fruits, nuts, and milk aids in raising energy levels.
7. Surrender to Divine Consciousness as Mahashivratri is about dissolving the ego and aligning with universal consciousness. Practicing surrender by letting go of fears, attachments, and illusions—leads to deep inner peace.
8. Light an Oil with Water Lamp for Inner Illumination. It symbolizes the removal of ignorance and the awakening of wisdom Keeping a lamp lit throughout the night is considered highly auspicious.
9. Engage in Seva (Selfless Service) by helping the needy, feeding the poor, or contributing to a cause in God's name which embodies His spirit of selflessness and compassion.
By engaging in these spiritually significant practices, Mahashivratri can become a night of deep transformation, purification, and divine connection. May you be blessed with the inner strength to Live in His Love Compassion and Surrender. Stay Blessed in His Love, Light, Wisdom, and Protection🌹JAI BABA ☀️ #roshanishenazz
