Over 60% of SEWA’s members are small and marginal women farmers, sharecroppers and agricultural laborers - associated with agriculture, a sector facing the brunt of escalating climate risks. Therefore, SEWA has been spearheading the #buildingcleanerskies and #agriculture Campaigns focus on building climate resilience of these members and their livelihoods by enhancing agricultural sustainability through innovative strategies. As poor smallholders tried switching to organic and regenerative farming following the capacity building initiatives, SEWA quickly realized that affordable access to organic inputs was an important bottleneck to implementation. Therefore, SEWA piloted the transformative "Agri-Input Center” initiative, training rural women as micro-entrepreneurs – producing and selling organic and eco-friendly agro-inputs and essentials in their villages and community, turning challenges into entrepreneurial opportunities.
