*CARDIAC ARREST: WHEN THE HEART COMPLETELY STOPS WORKING*
Cardiac arrest is a condition that is described as a sudden electrical malfunction in the heart, that causes your heart to stop beating instantly.
It happens in this order ; No heartbeat = No blood circulation = Immediate loss of consciousness.
*CARDIAC ARREST IS AN EMERGENCY!* 🚨
Unlike a heart attack, there’s usually no warning, it's not slow to buildup, rather it may come with a sudden collapse.
*WHAT HAPPENS DURING CARDIAC ARREST.*
In cardiac arrest, heart’s electrical system goes haywire.
-The heart either stops beating or beats so fast that it can’t pump blood properly.
-Other organs such as the brain, and lungs, and more, stop receiving oxygen.
-Within a few minutes, the person can die in the absence of CPR or defibrillation.
*WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF CARDIAC ARREST?*
The biggest difference is that Cardiac arrest happens without warning!
One second the person fine, the next second the person has collapsed.
Some symptoms are ;
-Fainting
-Absence of pulse
If it doesn't happen so abruptly, the following may occur;
-Chest pain
-Shortness of breath.
-Palpitations
-Dizziness & nausea
