Parts of an Internal Combustion (IC) engine:📌📌 *Major Components:* 1. Cylinders: Where fuel is burned to produce power. 2. Pistons: Move up and down in cylinders, driven by explosive force. 3. Crankshaft: Converts reciprocating motion of pistons into rotary motion. 4. Camshaft: Operates valves that allow air-fuel mixture in and exhaust gases out. 5. Valves: Control flow of air-fuel mixture and exhaust gases. 6. Engine Block: Houses cylinders, pistons, and crankshaft. 7. Cylinder Head: Sits on top of engine block, contains valves and spark plugs. 📌Supporting Components💯 1. Timing Belt or Chain: Synchronizes crankshaft and camshaft rotation. 2. Oil Pump: Circulates engine oil for lubrication. 3. Water Pump: Circulates coolant for temperature regulation. 4. Spark Plugs: Ignite air-fuel mixture in cylinders (in petrol engines). 5. Fuel Injectors: Spray fuel into cylinders (in diesel engines). 6. Piston Rings: Seal gaps between pistons and cylinders. 7. Connecting Rods: Link pistons to crankshaft. 📌Accessory Components📌 1. Alternator: Generates electricity for vehicle's electrical systems. 2. Starter Motor: Turns engine over during starting. 3. Air Filter: Cleans air entering engine. 4. Fuel Filter: Cleans fuel entering engine. 5. Exhaust System: Directs exhaust gases away from vehicle. These parts work together to convert chemical energy from fuel into mechanical energy, powering your vehicle!
