අද (25) පෙරවරුවේ ජනාධිපති ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේදී මාලදිවයින් ජනරජයේ මහ කොමසාරිස් මසූඩ් ඉමාඩ් (Masood Imad) මහතා හමුවීමි. පසුගිය මැතිවරණවලදී වත්මන් රජය ලබාගත් ජයග්‍රහණ වෙනුවෙන් මෙහිදී මාලදිවයින් ජනරජයේ සුබ පැතුම් එක් කළ මහකොමසාරිස්වරයා මැතිවරණ ජයග්‍රහණයෙන් පසුව රට තුළ සිදුව ඇති නව පරිවර්තන පිළිබඳවද සතුට පළ කළේය. මාලදිවයින හා ශ්‍රී ලංකාව අතර වසර 60ක දීර්ඝ කාලීන මිත්‍රත්වය ශක්තිමත්ව ඉදිරියටත් පවත්වාගෙන යාම පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි. දෙරට අතර පවතින සබඳතා තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත්ව ඉදිරියට ගෙන යෑමට මාලදිවයින දක්වන සුවිශේෂී දායකත්වය පිළිබඳව මම මෙහිදී ප්‍රශංසාව පළ කළෙමි. ජනාධිපති ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ අතිරේක ලේකම් රෝෂන් ගමගේ, මාලදිවයින් ජනරජයේ විදේශ ලේකම් ෆාතිමත් ඉනායා (Fathimath Inaya), දෙවන ලේකම් අමිනාත් අබ්දුල්ලා ඩිඩී (Aminath Abdulla didi) යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ. இன்று (25) மாலைதீவு குடியரசின் உயர்ஸ்தானிகர் மசூத் இமாட் (Masood Imad) அவர்களை ஜனாதிபதி செயலகத்தில் சந்தித்து கலந்துரையாடினேன். கடந்த தேர்தல்களில் ஜனாதிபதி தலைமையிலான தற்போதைய அரசாங்கம் அடைந்த வெற்றிகளுக்கு மாலைதீவு குடியரசின் வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்த உயர் ஸ்தானிகர், தேர்தல் வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து நாட்டில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள புதிய மாற்றங்கள் குறித்து மகிழ்ச்சியையும் தெரிவித்தார். மாலைதீவு மற்றும் இலங்கைக்கு இடையேயான 60 ஆண்டுகால நட்பை வலுப்படுத்தி, தொடர்ந்து பேணுவது குறித்து இதன்போது கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டன. இரு நாடுகளுக்கும் இடையிலான உறவுகளை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்துவதில் மாலைதீவு ஆற்றும் சிறப்பான பங்களிப்பிற்கு பாராட்டுத் தெரிவித்தேன். ஜனாதிபதியின் சிரேஷ்ட மேலதிக செயலாளர் ரோஷன் கமகே, மாலைதீவு குடியரசின் வெளியுறவு செயலாளர் பாத்திமத் இனாயா (Fathimath Inaya),இரண்டாம் செயலாளர் அமினாத் அப்துல்லா தீதி (Aminath Abdulla didi) உள்ளிட்ட பலர் இச்சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.​ Today (25), I met with the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives, Masood Imad at the Presidential Secretariat. During the meeting, the High Commissioner extended his congratulations on behalf of the Republic of Maldives for the victory achieved by the current government in the recent elections. He also expressed his satisfaction with the new transformations taking place in the country following the electoral success. Discussions were held on strengthening and advancing the longstanding 60-year friendship between the our two countries. I also conveyed my appreciation for the significant contribution of the Maldives in further strengthening the relations between the two nations. The event was attended by Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, Maldivian Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Second Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, and other distinguished officials.
