අද (27) දින ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේදී වත්මන් ආරක්ෂක තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳ ගුවන් හමුදාවේ උසස් නිලධාරීන් සමඟ පැවති සාකච්ඡාවට එක්වීමි. රටේ ආරක්ෂක තත්ත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වූ ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳවමෙහිදී අවධානය යොමු වූ අතර ශක්තිමත් ගුවන් හමුදාවක් ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාව වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද හමුදාවේ සහ ශ්‍රි ලංකා නාවික හමුදාවේ මෙහෙයුම් සඳහා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ සහාය ලබා දීම පිළිබඳ මෙහිදී දීර්ඝ ලෙස සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි. මෙවර අයවැයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාව වෙනුවෙන් වෙන් කර තිබෙන ප්‍රතිපාදන ප්‍රමාණය මෙන්ම ගුවන් හමුදාවේ දැනට තිබෙන අවශ්‍යතා මොනවාද යන්න පිළිබඳවත් මෙහිදී අවධානයට ලක් විය. ආරක්ෂක නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය අරුණ ජයසේකර, ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ලේකම් එයාර් වයිස් මාර්ෂල් සම්පත් තුයියකොන්තා, ගුවන් හමුදාපති එයාර් මාර්ෂල් බන්දු එදිරිසිංහ යන මහත්වරු සහ ගුවන් හමුදාවේ ඉහළ නිලධාරීහු පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ. இன்று (27) விமானப் படையின் உயர் அதிகாரிகளுடன் நாட்டின் தற்போதைய பாதுகாப்பு நிலைமைகள் தொடர்பிலான கலந்துரையாடலொன்று ஜனாதிபதி அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. இதன்போது நாட்டின் பாதுகாப்பு நிலைமைகள் தொடர்பான எதிர்காலச் செயற்பாடுகள் குறித்து கவனம் செலுத்தப்பட்டதுடன், வலுவான விமானப் படையாக இலங்கை விமானப்படையை வலுப்படுத்தல், இலங்கை இராணுவம் மற்றும் கடற்படையின் முன்னெடுப்புகளுக்காக விமானப்படையின் ஒத்துழைப்பை பெற்றுக்கொள்வது தொடர்பிலும் கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டது. இம்முறை வரவு செலவு திட்டத்தில் இலங்கை விமானப்படைக்கான ஒதுக்கீடுகளின் அளவு மற்றும் விமானப்படையில் தற்போது காணப்படும் தேவைகள் குறித்தும் இதன்போது கவனம் செலுத்தப்பட்டது. பாதுகாப்பு பிரதி அமைச்சர் அருண ஜயசேகர, பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் எயார் வையிஸ் மார்ஷல் சம்பத் துய்யகொந்தா, விமானப்படை தளபதி எயார் மார்ஷல் பந்து எதிரிசிங்க உள்ளிட்ட விமானப்படையின் உயர் அதிகாரிகள் பலரும் இதில் கலந்துகொண்டனர். Today (27), I held a discussion with senior officers of the Air Force at the Presidential Secretariat regarding the current security situation in the country. The focus was on future actions related to the country’s security, and a detailed discussion was held on strengthening the Sri Lanka Air Force as a formidable force, as well as providing support from the Air Force for the operations of the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Navy. The discussion also highlighted the provisions allocated for the Sri Lanka Air Force in this year’s budget, as well as the current needs of the Air Force. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd.), Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, and several senior officials of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
