JANUARY 31 Life Gems *THE WORLD WILL HATE YOU* *Spotlight* : 1 John 3 verse 13 – Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. Many believers feel bad when the world system through its human representative just hate them for no reason. As a believer, you need to understand that if you are upright, you will be hated even without offending someone. In fact, the world hating you as a child of God dates back to Cain hating and killing Abel not because Abel offended him. Righteous Abel’s sacrifice was accepted while Cain’s own didn’t receive acceptance and of course his later action showed that he was evil. You standing upright is already an offense to those practicing evil so don’t be surprised when you are hated without a cause (reason). Those living in sin want everyone to live in sin as well. So when you stand upright and refuse to join them live a life of cheating, bribery, fraud, immorality, disobedience etc, they hate you passionately. Never let their hatred move you to succumb and accept to live in sin. Rather maintain your stand and don’t stress yourself trying to explain to them so that they can stop hating you. When you realize people hating you for standing upright, just intensify your connection with God so that God’s presence will be with you at all times to handle all your life’s battle. Don’t bother knowing who hate you and what anyone said about you.
