FEBRUARY 1 Life Gems *LOVE TRULY* *Spotlight* : 1 John 3 verse 18 – My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. Love can be expressed in actions. Love is actually practical not theory. The best way to tell God ‘I love You’ is to obey Him. The best way to tell man ‘I love you’ is to make his or her life better with no strings attached. There is a question mark over someone’s claim of love when it is not backed by a corresponding action either towards God or man. Even without telling God ‘I love You’, God can see that love when you give yourself to actively doing what He says you should do. Don’t try to be manipulative in your walk with God i.e disobey God’s instruction and render services or money to God’s work and tell God you love Him so much so He should look at the things you have done and cover up your disobedience. Obeying God’s command is the best way to let God know you truly love Him. What of man? Truly love man by making his or her life better. If you need to share what you have, go ahead. Having a physical possession you know you can give some to another and not get stranded and refusing to give puts a question mark on your love. Don’t close your heart of compassion to people. You may not be able to give them all they need but the little or much you can give to them, give to them. As you share material or physical possession with people, don’t hesitate to share God’s word with them because that is what can give them a future.
