FEBRUARY 2 Life Gems *WHAT ARE YOU SEEKING?* *Spotlight* : Matthew 6 verse 33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. As a human being there are things that are usually more tempting to seek. A typical example is money. Jesus in Matthew 6 verse 33 told us what to seek. Though Jesus knew that man will naturally want to seek things like material possession, told us not to seek them. On the contrary, Jesus said we should seek God’s kingdom first and His righteousness. To seek God first: *1. Give Him your time first* : Give God time first before anyone or anything. Ways to show you value something is by allocating time first to that person or thing before anything else. Give God the first time of your day not as a formality but in honour and holy reverence. Let God know He has first place even in your time allocation to things during the day. Within the day, create time to spend with God studying His word. *2. Seek God’s interest first* : Consciously pay attention to God even within your day. Praying in the morning alone and using the whole of the day to yourself is not correct. During breaks and free time in the day, think of God first and how you can make impact as His child. Use the break to study God’s word, pray, share God’s word with someone rather than watching movies or gisting. In your interactions, think of how the kingdom of God will benefit before anything else. Many can go out of their way to convince a prospective customer but are very casual with sharing God’s word. The question is: are you seeking God or are you seeking what the gentiles are seeking? *Word Feast* : Matthew 6 verses 24, 32 – 33; 2 Corinthians 5 verse 11; Mark 1 verse 35. *Prayer* : Lord, I receive wisdom today to seek Your kingdom and His righteousness in Jesus name, Amen. *Action Point* : Always think of how you can give God your time first. *Drill* : What did Jesus say we should seek? *BIOY* : Exodus 25-26; Mark 5.
