FEBRUARY 5 Life Gems *GIVE YOURSELF TO GOD* *Spotlight* : 2 Corinthians 8 verse 5 – And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. From the time of Adam, God has desired man to give Him nothing else but himself. God came to Eden at the cool of the day not necessary to ask Adam to give Him some fruits of the garden but He wanted to just interact and spend time with Adam. Don’t run helter skelter looking for what to present to God to make Him happy. What He wants you to present to Him is yourself. Just give yourself to God. Bring yourself to God as a student, civil servant, pastor etc. God wants you to come to Him and interact with Him. There are many who argue about what to give or not to give to God. The problem is actually one giving himself to God. Once a believer can give himself to God, whatever he has will follow. A believer who has fully given himself to God will release any other thing he has without struggle. When you give yourself to God, you will not withhold your money from God no matter what the economic situation is. The Macedonian church gave even beyond their ability because they had given themselves to God(2 Corinthians 8:1-5). Don’t encourage people to give money to God, rather teach them to give themselves to God. Let them come to a point of surrendering themselves, their will, plans to God and coming to God willingly out of love to relate and interact with Him. If you feel a struggle releasing what you have to God, draw closer to God by personally spending time with Him and learning His ways so that whatever you want to do with anything He has given you will be out of understanding and love for Him. *Word Feast* : 2 Corinthians 8 verses 2 – 5; Genesis 3 verses 8 – 9; 2 Samuel 24 verses 21 – 24. *Prayer* : Father, I receive grace to personally draw close to you so that I can learn Your ways in Jesus name, Amen. *Action Point* : Give yourself to God. *Drill* : What does God wants you to present to Him first? *BIOY* : Exodus 32-33; Mark 7.
