FEBRUARY 21 Life Gems *NO TO EXCUSES* *Spotlight* : Philippians 4 verse 13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Man naturally finds it more convenient to give excuses. Many of the people God called gave one excuse or the other why God should look for someone else to use or send. Jeremiah told God he cannot speak that he was a child but God was seeing a great prophet in him(Jeremiah 1:5-8). Gideon saw himself as least in his father’s house yet God saw a deliverer in him(Judges 6:12,14). Say no to excuses when God gives you a task or an assignment. Stop giving God reasons why you cannot handle what He said you should handle. If you need grace for any assignment God gives to you, simply ask Him for grace. If you need grace along the line as you execute the assignment, just ask Him for grace. You may think you are not capable to do what God wants you to do but when you ask Him for grace, His grace empowers you and makes every weakness to fizzle out. What men will see as you execute the task will be God’s grace not your weaknesses. Excuses are very convenient to make but you need to hate them when you are dealing with God. You need to understand that God is all powerful and all knowing. So when He is giving you a task, stop telling Him 101 reasons why it is not possible. What He wants to hear from you is ‘yes sir’ and He will supply everything you need for the task. Those who gave excuses later executed the task. Their excuses didn’t make God to change His mind.
