FEBRUARY 22 Life Gems *WHAT DO YOU SEE?* *Spotlight* : Jeremiah 1 verses 11&12 – Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” Observation is key in life and the sense organs play a vital role in it. God has made all things to work together to His glory. There are many things a man will get or learn by observation. Many years ago while in a reading hall with other undergraduates, I looked out of the window and saw a bird. There and then God began to speak to me how the bird doesn’t think of what to eat but God provides for it. If God provides for it, how much more will He not take care of me? Many would have looked at the bird but didn’t gain anything from that sight but as I looked in observation, I started hearing God. Many a times, God will speak to you through things your senses can observe. When you step out in the morning to carry out your daily activities, you will encounter different people and different situations but if you are sensitive to know what God is saying to you, you will begin to see and understand things people didn’t know meant anything. As busy as your day may be, be sensitive to divine communications. If you are a child of God, you are supposed to hear God not just daily but as frequent as possible within the day. Calmness of spirit helps you hear God clearly. Gisting and jesting will quench your sensitivity. Right in a queue, if you are sensitive, God can speak to you. Moses observed a burning bush that wasn’t getting burnt and paid attention. Someone else could have just looked and felt ‘Oh there is bush fire’ and left.
