📃 Leucoderma/vitiligo in Buffaloes 🐃 Copper is essential for melanin synthesis via the enzyme tyrosinase. Deficiency leads to reduced melanin production, causing depigmentation (white patches). Zinc is critical for skin repair and maintaining immune function. Deficiency impairs keratinocyte function, exacerbating skin issues. ✅ Treatment: 1️⃣ Copper Supplementation: 🥄 Oral: Copper sulfate 0.25-0.5 g/day/adult (mix in feed). 💉 Injection: Copper glycinate or copper calcium edetate (dose as per vet advice). 🧂 Use mineral mixtures rich in copper. 2️⃣ Zinc Supplementation: 🥄 Oral: Zinc sulfate 0.5-1 g/day/adult (mix in feed). 💉 Injection: Zinc gluconate or zinc methionine. 3️⃣ Dietary Support: Add oil cakes, legumes, and mineral blocks. Supplement with Vitamin A & E for better skin repair. ✅ Prevention: Provide balanced mineral mixtures daily. Check soil/fodder for mineral content to adjust diet accordingly. Vet Med Info 🩺
