Emergency measures to bring rough sleepers indoors have been put in place in Exeter this week as overnight temperatures are set to fall below freezing. The City Council is activating its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) from Wednesday, 5 February, until Monday, 10 February, as sub-zero temperatures are forecast for the city. Temperatures are expected to rise next week, but the Council will review the protocol on Monday. The protocol provides extra emergency accommodation for rough sleepers.
