KAREN, NAIROBI CITY COUNTY, KENYA THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 2025 The Government is tracking progress in the implementation of all programmes and projects in various pillars to ensure the realisation of Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). Prioritising the value chains that have the greatest impact on the vast majority of our citizens including agriculture, livestock, fisheries, mining and the blue economy will result in increased household incomes at the grassroots level. In Isiolo County and other counties inhabited by pastoralists, revitalisation of the livestock value chains will give livestock keepers better returns and access to the international market. Construction of the Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP) in Kenanie, Machakos County is at an advanced stage and once operational, the park will be a pivotal intervention in the off take of hides and skins for value addition and manufacturing, to push the annual contribution of the leather industry from the current 15 Billion shillings to 175 Billion shillings and industry jobs from 17,000 currently to 100,000. Concluded a consultative forum with Isiolo County leaders on the status of implementation of development projects and Government programmes to spur the County's economic transformation. Governor Abdi Ibrahim Hassan, Deputy Governor James Lowassa, Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya, Joseph Lomwa Samal (MP - Isiolo North), Members of the Isiolo County Assembly led by Speaker Mohamed Roba, economic sectors leaders, professionals and grassroots leaders in attendance.
