*AND THERE ARE ALSO MANY OTHER THINGS WHICH JESUS DID...*
WE thank the Lord for yet another opportunity to learn together from His Word. We are also thankful for the opportunity to see another beautiful Lord's Day.
In fact, my relationship and your relationship to God should be very paramount. The Bible has everything to say about everything that is very important. The Bible starts at the beginning of time and even before the beginning of time. The Bible describes the history of the world from the vantage point of God's salvation plan all the way to the end of the world, beyond the end of the world, namely, into eternity future. Everything in the Bible is very, very pertinent and very important in each of our lives.
As a matter of fact, the main reason for our sharing from the Word of God every Lord's Day, is basically to encourage us learn from the Bible, hoping that, as many people as possible, might become acquainted with this very precious Book-The Bible.
The Bible relates to everyone of us in a very decisive and in a very important way.
By God's mercy, today, we will be thinking together on the Bible declaration in John chapter 21 verse 25.
Let's do it together:
In John chapter 21 verse 25 the Bible declares:
*"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."*
Let's try to compare this passage in John with 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) *"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:*
*That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."*
It is a biblical fact that Jesus was on earth for 38 and half years. He never cease to be God. Even as a little baby or as a youngster, He was God. So every word that ever came out of His mouth, within the 38 and half years of His sojourn on earth, was the Word of God. Jesus spoke, He was a Carpenter with His earthly Dad, yet every word He spoke was a Word from the mouth of God.
However, as He preached for three (3) and half years, He was going all day long speaking. When we read all the words that came directly from the mouth of Christ, as He was on this earth, we can read them all in a few hours at the very most.
Obviously, Christ said all kinds of things that were not recorded. That does not mean that those other things He said or did, that were not recorded were not the Word of God. They were the Word of God, because Christ is God Himself.
See the latter part of verse 24 of our main verse, indicating that every Word of God is true: John 21:24 (KJV) *"This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true."*
By God's mercy, when we again compare our main passage with Revelation chapter 22:18-19 (KJV) *"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:*
*And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."*
We find that the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation is exactly what God wants the whole world to know about and by God's mercy, that is sufficient.
Lord, could it be that you would help us not to add or take away from the Bible and for us to realize that the books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is what God wants us to know about and that your Word is absolutely trustworthy and dependable. Amen
