*ASSASSINATION OF GOVERNOR ADELEKE: INVITE SUNDAY BISI FOR QUESTIONING, AKIN ADEYI INSIST TO THE POLICE* 👮‍♀️ 👮‍♀️👮‍♀️👮‍♀️👮‍♀️👮‍♀️👮‍♀️ Mr Akin Adeyi, a security expert and public commentator, commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun for his professionalism and mannerisms in handling security issues, particularly in Osun state lately. He however insisted that the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies should still invite Mr Sunday Bisi, chairman of the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for interrogation, despite the IGP's response describing Bisi as an irritant distraction that is better ignored. According to Adeyi, the recent allegation made by Bisi against the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun that he was planning to assassinate Mr Ademola Adeleke who is the Osun State governor is too worthy. It necessitates a formal invitation by security agencies if only to serve as deterrent to him and his other party members. At a world press conference in Osogbo on February 19, 2025, Bisi alleged that IGP Kayode Egbetokun was planning to assassinate Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. “This is a serious allegation that requires verification, no doubt. It cannot be dismissed, especially since it involves two prominent Nigerians,” Adeyi insists. The security expert further emphasized that Mr Bisi bears the responsibility of proving this allegation. “Information on plans by anybody to assassinate even the ordinary citizen not to talk of a state governor is not a mean intelligence. It deserves the most urgent attention” Akin Adeyi acknowledged that Bisi’s current position as state chairman of the ruling party makes whatever that comes out of his mouth credible and until proven otherwise. Thus, his information should not be dismissed without careful thought. “Apart from serving as a deterrent to him and his ilk, inviting Bisi will help cure him of his propensity for flippancy and making reckless allegations. "Recall that this was not his first instance. Neither was it the first time his party alleged someone of assassination plans against the governor. The same individual, notorious for his insatiable appetite for Trophy beer and his questionable relationships with women of easy virtues , had previously alleged that the opposition party in the state, APC, procured arms and ammunition in large quantities, storing them in secret locations across the state. This information was later proven to be unfounded. On two separate occasions prior to that, they made similarly alarming and unfounded allegations of planning to assassinate Governor Adeleke against certain individuals”. In conclusion, Adeyi mentioned these and many other reasons that justify an investigation by the authorities into Bisi's statements claiming that the Inspector General of Police intends to assassinate Governor Ademola Adeleke.
