Hashim & The charade called election: Before criticizing Hashim Abioye, the OSIEC chairman, let us examine some fundamental concerns: a) What specific qualifications does Hashim possess for this critical role of election umpire, aside from being a lawyer, an unskilled communicator, and a Confucianist? a) Does Hashim have any additional special training or experience in a relevant field? c) Did those who appointed him consider him for any crash training ahead of commencement of work ? If the answers are unequivocally no why blame him for the shameful performance we saw on Saturday? Among his other shortcomings was when Hashim, who didn’t announce the mandatory breakdown of results as the Returning Officer, went ahead to announce the final results by saying that his party (PDP) “Cleared” all the local government councils. Where and how “cleared” became the appropriate official word for announcing an election results of this magnitude only Hashim and his bedfellows can tell. 😂😂😂
