CHEATING IS FOOLISHNESS

The Ghana Statistical Service recently reported that over 168,000 married women in Ghana cheat on their spouses, while over 700,000 married men do the same. This revelation is causing many singles to worry about their future marriages. The data clearly shows that cheating is no longer a male-dominated issue. What men can do, women can also do, if not better.
Some men may marry and still cheat on their spouses, believing that men are naturally polygamous. However, they are learning that cheating can also be a learned behaviour. Their wives can learn to cheat as well. Soon, it will no longer be a debate of who is created to cheat, but rather a question of whether one can be nurtured to cheat. This is a classic example of nature vs. nurture.
It is my prayer that this revelation will challenge or change people's perception of cheating. A healthy, faithful relationship is the collective responsibility of both husband and wife.
To the singles who are worried: understand that before you start something, you need to learn how to finish it. Before beginning your marital journey, go for pre-marital counseling. Equip yourself with the right understanding, tools, and resources on how to make the marriage last or work.
A faithful couple with the right understanding of marriage does not worry about cheating. Sometimes, people think ending a marriage makes them better, but the truth is, being a better spouse makes the union stronger.
It's total foolishness to get married and then steal another's spouse to sleep with. That is not what marriage is about. If you cannot be faithful, you have no business getting married.
In conclusion, "Adultery is a brainless act, soul-destroying, self-destructive" (Proverbs 6:32 MSG).
