The thing about aid is that it often leaves a dependency syndrome on the receiver unless a sustainability clause is inbuilt within the aid strategy. The American People have supported us for years, and that is charity. It was not made on a promise that it would be there forever. It was made on the hope that we’ll learn how to stand on our own. #usaid is “From the American People”. What can we do to have aid “From the Cameroonian People” or “From the Nigerian People” and you name the rest as befitting of your context?
