NEW PARLIAMENTARY YEAR TO BEGIN TODAY (2/2) The Throne Speech will outline the Government’s legislative agenda for the upcoming parliamentary year. The Ceremonial Opening of Parliament is a significant event in Jamaica’s governance landscape, symbolising the start of a new legislative year. The proceedings will feature the formal arrival of parliamentary officials, members of both Houses of Parliament, and other dignitaries and will include the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour. The proceedings will be broadcast live via the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), the Jamaica Information Service (JIS), and other media platforms. After the Ceremony, the House of Representatives will convene at 2:00 p.m. for the tabling of the 2025/2026 Estimates of Expenditure.
