Imam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Actions (that are done) without sincerity and are not emulating the sunnah are similar to the traveller who fills his bag with sand: it weighs down heavily on him, yet it does not benefit him (whatsoever).” [Al-Fawā’id | Pg. 66]
