*The National Standards Authority of Afghanistan signed a MoU with the consulting organization (LIMA) to manage energy in buildings* The event, held at the GMIC, was attended by Director-General of the National Standards Authority Haji Mullah Faizullah Tamim, Director of the GMIC Naeemullah Haqani Herati, Director of the LIMA Consulting Organization Dr. Engineer Mohammad Omar Temori, Technical Deputy Director of the National Standards Authority Mawlawi Mohammad Asif Qanit, Administrative and Financial Deputy Director Mawlawi Ataullah Farid, as well as other relevant officials and media representatives. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Initially, Haji Mullah Faizullah Tamim spoke about the importance of energy management and its role in progress and development. He emphasized that the National Standards Authority of Afghanistan, as one of the key agencies of the Emirate, is always committed to ensuring the welfare, comfort and ease of its citizens. He added that their efforts are focused on promoting scientific and technical standards to improve the quality of life for fellow citizens and contribute to the development of the country’s economy. Following that, Dr. Engineer Mohammad Omar Temori expressed gratitude towards the officials of the National Standards Authority, stressing the crucial role of standards in progress and development. He highlighted the importance of preventing energy waste in the construction industry and committed to further cooperation in implementing the memorandum. During the program, the Technical Deputy Director of the National Standards Authority Mawlawi Mohammad Asif Qanit, stated that this MoU would lay the groundwork for establishing and applying technical standards in the construction sector, enhancing the capacity of specialists, researching methods to reduce energy waste, and creating an efficient monitoring system. He emphasized their commitment to improving national energy management standards through this collaboration and encouraging both the public and private sectors in this regard. The program concluded with the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the General- Director of the (ANSA) and the Director of the LIMA Consulting Organization.
