The Cabinet Office advised that it has been made aware of the creation of fake social media accounts using the likeness of the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP. The sites are promoting false Royal Gazette news articles and purporting to offer payments from the Government of Bermuda to persons if they click a link provided on the page. There are also fake social media posts circulating highlighting Government Ministers in a negative light. Today the Cabinet Office warned residents to be vigilant when engaging online particularly during the ongoing election period.
