📢 BREAKING: Energy bills set to rise again 📢 Ofgem has confirmed the energy price cap will increase, this means the average household is set to pay over £800 more per year for their energy compared to winter 2020/21 - a 77% increase. 🚨 Also included in the small print is a clause that will allow energy suppliers to increase the profits (EBIT) made on every customer’s bill by 4.1% compared to the current quarter! It beggars belief that Ofgem is increasing the profit allowance for suppliers in the current climate. With the cost of gas set to be DOUBLE what it was in 2020/21, those who rely on more energy—whether due to family size, medical needs, or keeping warm—will be hit hardest. (Remember that under marginal pricing rules, gas sets electricity prices up to 40% of the time, driving costs even higher.) This crisis must end. The Chancellor needs to step up with a £13.2bn Warm Homes Plan to cut bills, invest in renewables, and stop our reliance on volatile gas prices. People can’t keep paying the price. It’s time for action. 🔥 #energycrisis #warmhomesnow #fuelpoverty
