Energy Bills & Fuel Poverty

The Climate Change Committee's latest report shows that moving away from fossil fuels in the UK is a huge opportunity. It could lead to energy bills coming down by £716 a year while also reducing our reliance on volatile global gas markets. This is in stark contrast to today, where are dependent on the USA for 10% of the gas we use and fossil fuel markets are driving up bills. 🔹 “The prize of significantly lower bills and a more secure energy supply is one worth fighting for.” But big action is needed now. The next decade will require substantial investment, starting with £13.2bn for the Warm Homes Plan in the upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review. A penny less, and millions will face further winters in cold homes. For next winter, the Government must ensure expanded Warm Home Discount support reaches all vulnerable households. A cleaner, cheaper, and fairer future is within reach – but only if we demand it. #netzero #climateaction #warmhomes #energysecurity
