AFGHAN INTERIM GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS ‘ENHANCED’ DIPLOMATIC TIES WITH INDIA, NAJIB SHAHEEN TIPPED OFF AS HEAD OF MISSION IN NEW DELHI. Discussions are ongoing with India regarding the enhancement of Afghanistan’s diplomatic presence in New Delhi, the spokesperson of the Interim Afghan Government confirmed. The spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that bilateral discussions and efforts are ongoing between Afghanistan and India to strengthen diplomatic representation in both countries. “We hope to extend our diplomatic presence in New Delhi and India’s in Afghanistan,” he added. Recently, reliable sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told The Khorasan Diary that a list of Afghan diplomats has been shared with the Government of India. The sources also added that Najib Shaheen, son of Sohail Shaheen, the current acting ambassador of Afghanistan in Doha, has been nominated as Afghanistan’s ambassador to India: TKD Correspondent
