#zbsnews Flash floods have affected over 150 households in four villages under Group Village Headman (GVH) Mtemangawa Traditional Authority Malemia in Nsanje district. District Disaster Risk Management Officer, Daniel Mandala, told Zodiak Online this morning, "the flash floods hit the area in the wee hours of yesterday. "The flood waters passed through some of the houses. As of yesterday, the estimated figures were at 152 households. The affected villages are; Njuzi, Mtemangawa, Thomusoni and Stanford. No death or injury has been recorded." He admitted that no support has been provided to the affected households as the report is yet to be submitted to the authorities saying they are finalising it. Meanwhile MET department has warned people in flood prone areas to be vigilant against flash floods as a result of rains which will be influenced by the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) coupled with Congo Air-Mass.
