To be attentive means to fix one's mind on something. The text suggests that the audience was to fix their minds on nothing but what they had heard from the apostles' teachings. They were to familiarize themselves with these teachings so deeply that they would be firmly grounded rather than drifting away. Friend, pay attention to the right teachings you have received concerning the ways of God. This will establish you in Him, ensuring that you are not cast aside like others who have strayed.
