Yaro Yaro Anticipates Tough Battle as Kano Pillars Face High-Flying Abia Warriors
Chief Coach of Kano Pillars FC, Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, has described Abia Warriors under the tutelage of Imama Amapakabo as a formidable opponent, praising their quality and impressive form.
Speaking to the Media & Communications Directorate of the club ahead of Sai Masu Gida’s crucial clash against Abia Warriors at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday, Yaro Yaro acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents.
“Facing Abia Warriors, considering their rich vein of form and with Imama as coach, is a tough task not just for us but for any team in the league,” the former Nigeria international stated.
However, he remains optimistic that the Pyramid City side will secure maximum points and build on their 2-1 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in their outstanding Matchday 20 fixture on Wednesday.
“Abia Warriors have been a tough side, playing fantastic football under Imama, whom I respect a lot because of his style of play," Yaro Yaro said.
"With the right attitude from the players and the technical crew's input, I believe we will triumph again, just as we did against El-Kanemi Warriors.”
Meanwhile, the four-time Nigerian champions will be without Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, Bright Emmanuel, Sudais Ali Baba, and Mustapha Salisu, all sidelined due to injury ahead of Saturday’s encounter.
Kano Pillars currently sit 9th on the league table with 32 points from 23 matches, while Abia Warriors occupy 4th place with 36 points.
The reverse fixture at the Umuahia Township Stadium ended 2-0 in favor of Abia Warriors.
