Coined as the Mujtahid of the Era (Mujtahid al-Asr), Ahl-e-Hadith scholar Hafidh Abdullah Ropadi states: > “It is virtuous (afdhal) to fast on Shab-e-Bara’at, and there is a hadith about it in Mishkaat and other books. Although the hadith is da‘īf, it is permissible to act upon a da‘īf hadith in Fadhail al-A‘maal (virtues of deeds).” [Fatāwa ‘Ulamā-e-Ahl-e-Hadīth 2/552]
