🚨 In this statement, SIHA Network calls on the U.S. Government to reinstate foreign assistance for Sudan, which is currently facing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. With over 150,000 civilian casualties and 13 million displaced persons, countless people, particularly women and children, are struggling to access food, water, protection, and health and psychosocial support services. Famine has been declared in Abu Shouk and El Salam camps, as well as parts of the Nuba Mountains, with 5 additional areas in North Darfur projected to experience famine in the next 6 months. The stop order issued by USAID and the Department of State on January 24 and 25, 2025, which halts U.S. funding assistance, will only allow these horrors to continue unless this decision is reversed for Sudan.
