Oil depot in Krasnodar region was hit by missile, not drones as officials initially claimed On the night of February 5, regional governor Kondratyev reported that a "drone attack was repelled" in Russia’s Krasnodar region. According to him, "drone debris fell on a tank with minor fuel residues in Novominskaya, Kanevsky district, causing a fire." However, Russia’s Defense Ministry did not mention any drone attack in its morning briefing. Readers told ASTRA that the Albashneft oil depot caught fire after the strike. Emergency service sources in Krasnodar told ASTRA that the oil depot was hit by a "missile of unknown type." Two storage tanks were damaged—one containing 60 tons of oil, which caught fire, and another holding 60 tons of diesel, which was superficially damaged but did not ignite. No casualties were reported.
