Serviceman gives alcohol and rapes underage girl in occupied Donetsk As ASTRA found out, on the evening of May 8, a car pulled up to a 17-year-old girl on the street in occupied Donetsk. The man behind the wheel introduced himself as a police officer and told her to come with him to sign some documents. Instead of a police station, the girl was taken to an unfamiliar apartment, where the man put something in her water ans then raped her. The suspect has been identified. ASTRA reports he is 28-year-old local resident Khojageldy Chopanov, a serviceman with military unit 42600. He committed the assault on his birthday. It is unclear whether he has been detained.

Relief of Stalin restored in Moscow Metro A replica of the relief The People’s Gratitude to the Leader and Commander featuring Joseph Stalin has been unveiled at Taganskaya station, according to Moscow News Agency. The original relief was located at the end of the platform on the Circle Line until 1966, when it was removed during construction of a transfer to the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line. On May 10, Moscow authorities announced plans to restore it using archival photos and documents. In 2009, a Stalin-era version of the Soviet anthem was also reinstated at Kurskaya station, including the line: Stalin raised us — inspired us to loyalty, labor, and feats.

Russian pro-war Telegram channels publish video message from Serbian volunteer facing criminal charges for 'mercenarism' Z-channels published a video of Serbian volunteer Aleksandar Kubatovic, call sign "Kubanac," from the Ural battalion. In 2023, after fighting for Russia near Avdiivka and Soledar, Kubatoviс returned to Serbia, where he faced criminal charges for mercenarism. Kubatovic complained that Serbian authorities do not prosecute volunteers fighting for Ukraine. "I don’t understand why the same law doesn’t apply to NATO soldiers or the French Foreign Legion. What’s the difference between us?" Kubatovic said. He added that he is willing to work with the Serbian army to share his combat experience. Kubatovic’s social media shows dozens of photos from Ukraine in Russian military gear. One image shows shells marked with slogans like “For Podgorica,” “For Belgrade,” “Kosovo is Serbia,” and “Fuck NATO.” Another shows him wearing a patch reading “Hello, I’m a Russian occupier.”

Ukrainian drones attack annexed Crimea Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down 43 drones over the Black Sea and 21 over annexed Crimea. According to the Telegram channel Krymsky Veter, the attack caused fires at the storage facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s 126th coastal defense brigade in Perevalnoye, with explosions heard in the area. However, Crimea’s transport ministry announced traffic restrictions from the village of Lozovoye in the Simferopol district toward Alushta — a road that passes through Perevalnoye.

Former Wagner mercenary with prior murder conviction kills and dismembers man in Ufa ASTRA has learned that in Ufa, authorities detained 43-year-old Yevgeny Shadrin, a former Wagner PMC fighter and participant in the invasion of Ukraine. He is suspected of killing 48-year-old Dmitry Kiryushkin (in the photo), an acquaintance, on May 11 in a shared apartment on Koltsevaya Street. After the killing, the ex-soldier dismembered Kiryushkin’s body and stored the remains in plastic bags, continuing to live in the apartment until his arrest on May 18. Neighbors had complained about a strong odor coming from his room. According to ASTRA, before joining the war in Ukraine, Shadrin had multiple prior convictions, including for murder. The victim also had a criminal record for theft and assault.

Woman in Kaluga sets fire to five National Guard cars, hits pedestrian while fleeing Last night, a 27-year-old woman broke into a secured National Guard parking lot in Kaluga and set fire to five official vehicles, local Telegram channels reported. Law enforcement confirmed that four Lada Granta cars and one VAZ-2114 were destroyed. The woman poured flammable liquid on the cars, set them on fire, and filmed the scene on her phone. While trying to escape, she hit a pedestrian with her car. Witnesses said she got out and assaulted the victim. The pedestrian was injured; their condition is being clarified. The suspect was detained at the scene. The total damage is estimated at around five million rubles (about $61,000). According to local sources, the suspect’s name is Irina, born in 1999. She reportedly has a three-month-old child at home.
